A Comprehensive Three Day Workshop for Educators.

 

We are offering our 5th bi-annual innovative Workshop, Educational Visions. It is primarily designed for those entering the teaching profession and for current teachers who have the sincere desire to learn new practical techniques for teaching Arnold Schoenberg’s life and work.

 

Comprehensive in-depth study of selected topics will provide participants methods for understanding Schoenberg and his contemporaries. Students will work both independently and in groups to better comprehend Schoenberg’s music through exposure and analysis.

 

The Workshop includes a special private tour of the Archives in the Schoenberg Center (Vienna) as well as the Schoenberg Haus (Moedling) as well as a focus on the current multi-media exhibition at the Center - The Musical Idea. . Lawrence Schoenberg, Schoenberg’s son, will participate in a lecture discussion with the participants. They will have the opportunity to discover information about Arnold Schoenberg from his personal point of view.

 

This workshop was conceived by Lawrence Schoenberg and Karin Wagner. They will be joined by archivist and instructor Eike Feß  

 

The application fee is 30 Euro. All other workshop fees are fully funded by the Arnold Schoenberg Center.

 

Participants will receive relevant teaching materials provided by the Arnold Schoenberg Center. Housing and transportation is the responsibility of the participant.
